Provision Recruitment

We’re looking for an experienced Carpentry Lecturer to join the Construction teaching team at Further Education College in London. An immediate start is required as well as potential for a move into a permanent role.

Duties include;

  • Deliver the full training specification in plumbing as the main Lecturer for the class or group.
  • Plan and coordinate lessons, resources and support to enable learners to achieve their qualifications.
  • Use the College’s online systems to track progress and attendance.
  • Quality delivery of interactive lessons to learners with clear lesson objectives.
  • Motivate and inspire learners using up-to-date teaching methodology.
  • Set and monitor regular, challenging homework in line with student abilities.
  • Keep in line with quality assurance (collect learner views, lesson observation.
  • Ensure students are working through action plan).
  • Attend meetings and any training days/inset days.
  • Ensure accurate completion of class registers at all times.
  • Stay on top of admin work and marking.

The ideal candidate will have;

  • Substantial industry experience or experience in Further Education lecturing.
  • Hold a UK recognised teaching qualification, such as: (DTLLS, PCET, PGCE or QCF Level 5 Diploma in Education), (if you do not hold a recognised teaching qualification, but have vast industry experience, then we are still very keen to talk to you).
  • Hold a Level 2 or above qualification in plumbing.
  • A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.

You’d be joining the education provider’s highly-regarded construction team, working alongside other talented teaching staff passing on their skills to the next generation.

This post will also help support unemployed adult learners to ensure that we are removing any barriers they may have to training and to ensure they are getting the same opportunities to personal development as their peers.
